Ethics & Confidentiality

Privacy

Confidentiality is of the highest importance, and very early on both parties will sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA). This ensures that the work Brent does for your company remains private and entirely between you. He will never share the results of any of his testing, nor any other information he receives over the course of the project. In other words, nobody will know about the consulting except you and Brent.

Conflict of Interest

Brent will not consult for any of your competitors within a three-year timeframe of the expiration of your contract. While Brent has never broken an NDA, this grace period further ensures your confidentiality and that your trade secrets remain secret.

Not Pay
for Play

Once you have engaged Brent’s services, it is important to note that he will recuse himself from covering your company in any of his future journalistic work. Having received payment from your company Brent would be considered compromised, and journalistic integrity dictates that he will not be able to write about you going forward. This keeps things cleaner and above board.

Siloed Work

While Brent is happy to advise about outlets to contact for media coverage, confidentiality dictates that he cannot make introductions to writers or editors. Similarly, while he receives a lot of information about upcoming launches, he will not share any information that isn’t already public. Not only is that legally mandated, but it keeps the line between Brent’s journalistic work and his consulting work clearer, which is necessary to ensure ethical standards for both.
