About

Brent Rose was born and raised in the SF Bay Area. Coming from a long line of engineers Brent learned that he spoke the language of electronics early in life, and that he had a passion for writing. After finishing grad school in Denver, CO, Brent would move to NYC. He worked part time for PC World Magazine, helping to develop and grow their Android device coverage before he was hired full time by Gizmodo, where he would be the lead reviewer of phones and tablets, health and outdoor gear, and more. In 2013 he went back to freelance and quickly began working for Wired, Outside Magazine, Men’s Journal, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Men’s Health, Backpacker, The Verge, and many others. He also expanded the scope of his coverage to include an even broader range of consumer goods, apps, and services.

He would eventually go on to host and produce one of Wired’s most popular video series of all time (Out of Office with Brent Rose), host and produce the Bespoke America for Gizmodo, and write/produce This Is Mark Rober and Mark Rober’s Avengineers for Discovery Channel.

Now based in Los Angeles (after 5+ years of vanlife), Brent is still an avid surfer, snowboarder, photographer, backpacker, home chef, writer, and performer. He is still passionate about technology, and loves helping people shape the most successful product possible.
