Mock reviews, strategy, and development from a trusted, outside eye.
Unbiased reviews for your eyes only
For more than 15 years, Brent has built his reputation in media as being “tough but fair” in his reviews. Through reviewing everything from smartphones and tablets, to sports watches and fitness gear, to smart home and kitchen gadgets, to surf, ski, running, and biking equipment, he has honed his ability to understand how consumers use the products, and the issues they are likely to experience. If there’s a bug or a pain-point in your UI/UX, Brent will find it, and he’ll find where your product excels and differentiates itself.
But public reviews can expose a product to harsh feedback, and even ridicule, which don’t give you a chance to fix mistakes and have a clean launch. Brent’s Mock Reviews involve putting your product through its paces, just like one of his real reviews would, but the report is confidential, shared only with you and your selected team members. These reports will help you identify things that can be adjusted ahead of your launch, ranked by priority-level. For things that cannot be immediately adjusted, Brent will advise on PR strategy to help you frame it in the best possible light. It’s also a preview for how your product may be received by seasoned journalists.

As a consultant he has helped numerous products come to market, from some of the largest companies in the world to first-time startups.
Ethos
Every company wants to make the best product possible, and while internal testing and “dogfooding” is critically important, it has limitations:
When you work closely with a product and are invested in its success, blindspots are common.
Team dynamics and the hierarchical structure of companies often lead to employees being hesitant to “rock the boat,” be the one to speak up, or call out an issue. This is particularly prevalent when an issue/idea that isn’t working is coming from higher up.
This is where an experienced, outside eye can be a game changer. Through objective testing and constructive feedback, Brent can help you avoid pitfalls, and get your product to where it needs to be ahead of launch or its next update.
“Brent’s feedback has been invaluable. We’ve used his private reviews for five separate product launches now, and each time he has found things that our team missed, helped us address issues, and informed the way we frame our press releases, reviewer’s guides, and blog entries. It’s become an integral part of our process.”
